Every fact has a source and a date.
Editorial policy
The rules every page on this site follows: where facts come from, how dates work, what we won't say, and how we fix mistakes.
Facts come from sources, never from guesswork
- Offers come from our partnerships team's records, shown in the wording supplied, with the date they were last checked. Material conditions must accompany an offer. A published terms line is used only after it is checked against the operator's current terms at publication; an offer without the required terms is held back.
- State listings combine operator exclusions in our partner records, additional exclusions in other published listings and our publication restrictions. A casino missing from our state list may accept registrations elsewhere; its current rules still govern who can use it.
- Legal statements come from primary sources (statutes, regulators, attorneys general) and are reviewed before they're published. Availability and legality are kept separate on every page.
- Operator facts such as the company behind a site or its redemption minimum come from the operator's own terms, another published hands-on review, or our own test. If dated test results differ from another source, the review explains the difference and its limits. An uncertain reading is not presented as a confirmed current fact.
Who writes and checks our pages
- Our tested casino reviews name their writer and a separate fact-checker, with links to profiles showing their roles and work. Named credits on state pages are added after the actual review is recorded.
- Our editors are Mike Epifani (Managing Editor) and Ian St. Clair (News Editor). Everyone we credit is a real person who has agreed to be named, with their own bio and photo.
- Our casino reviews are written by Mike Epifani and fact-checked by Ian St. Clair. The hands-on test behind each review is carried out by the Sweepstakes Casinos Team, following our rating method, and the review says so.
- A fact-checker checks the readings in each review against the test record before the score is published. Nobody fact-checks their own work, and each editor fact-checks the other's guides.
- Mike Epifani and Ian St. Clair are the assigned editors for our lists, state pages and facts-only casino pages. An assignment does not establish that a particular page has completed review.
Meet our reviewers and editors.
Dates mean something
The "Updated" date on a page changes only when its content or its data really changes. "Offers checked" is the date we last compared offers with our records, even if nothing changed. We never re-date a page just to look fresh.
What we won't write
- That wins are guaranteed, likely or easy, or that playing is a way to make money.
- "Best", "top" or "fastest" about a casino without tested data under our method.
- Anything aimed at people under 21, or that pressures anyone to play or buy.
- Ways to get around a state restriction.
How we use AI
Some content on this site is produced with the assistance of AI tools and reviewed by our editorial team before publication.
AI tools may help draft or edit text. They are never the source of a fact, offer, date, statistic, age limit, legal statement or state availability. A named editor reviews every page before it is published or updated.
Corrections
We check reported errors against the source, correct them, and update the page's date if its content changed.
